Hi - I'm Pennie and I run this company with the support and assistance of my family. You'll have to excuse me sometimes if I get sidetracked to the new generation - two of my kids have kids, the boy 2 boys and the girl a girl - I'm a proud Gramma.
Between us all, we have 5 qualifications and years of experience in event organisation and management. (There is even a qualified game keeper amongst us but we don't count that cos it's a different story!) We've done large public outdoor shows, concerts, smaller corporate events, birthday celebrations, even run a music venue: And that's without even mentioning the weddings! Just say we ‘do’ events.
Rob grew up in Canada and we have been in love with it since the 1990’s, when he took us to see his house and his school and his friends. Our lives changed - just as lives do when you fall in love. After several years of visiting we bought a house in a small Ontario town called Collingwood and began to merge into its community. Truth be told, we were ‘those mad people who visit from England’. But as the years passed, we really merged and made friends of all ages – from a toddler to our neighbours in their 90’s. We were asked out to dinner, to charity fundraisers, to watch the local hockey & baseball teams AND we learnt the words to ‘Oh Canada’. BUT, the first time we were invited to a wedding, the seeds were sown and Maple Leaf Weddings began to evolve.
One of us sees the big picture, another the detail.
Some do country, some do town.
All of us listen, all of us see.
One of us does the creative, another the technology.
Someone uses a pencil, the others use computers.
All of us together make your dream a reality.
I'm set for a trip across for Ontario for a week at the end of April. Maybe I'll post some photos.
