News from Niagara 1

We have a new location in the Niagara region which has caused great excitement in the office! It is a Little Log Cabin.

Is that not just the cutest thing you've ever seen? So typically Canadian. AND it's a bit like the Tardis - small on the outside but room for 10 on the inside! It has been purpose built (so has underfloor heating for the winter and air conditioning for the summer) using a mix of new and reclaimed lumber. The floor and the door are from a cottage that originally stood on the property. It's off the beaten track, next to a creek and is very tranquil. The owners have been photographers in the region for many years and saw the need for somewhere like this to hold a ceremony whilst being near to all the major attractions of the area - their creek runs into the Niagara River and on to the Falls. Ceremonies here start from $1987.35 which includes a Wedding Co-ordinator, cabin rental, the Officiant to conduct a personalised ceremony, a bouquet and buttonhole, transportation to and from the cabin (from hotels in Niagara Falls), 2 Witnesses and photography (6 digital images so that you can make your own prints).

There are all sorts of extras including the chance to have your ceremony video'd or a Skype connection so the folks back home don't miss out!

The Little Log Cabin operates throughout the year but is closed on Sunday throughout the Summer and Fall.

Even Santa decided to visit!

The National Wedding Show 2

The end of last week and the weekend were busy for us as we were exhibiting at the National Wedding Show. Putting a stand together is not an easy task - never too sure how much/little to display. In the end we went for simple - mostly wedding images with a few scenic posters showing some of the Ontario landscape.

We were lucky enough to meet some super visitors to the show and also to get some AMAZING enquiries covering venues as far apart as Toronto (VERY urban, edgy and up-to-the-minute) and Kenora (up in the NorthWest of Ontario, VERY rural, laid-back and really only accessible by prop or float plane). So quite diverse - we should have some fun doing all the research and scheduling.

These two locations will give you an idea of the scale of Ontario.

From Toronto to Kenora is 825 miles in a straight line

but to drive it's between 948 and 1031 miles

Fall 2013 seemed to be the most favoured time for weddings next year and I must admit, I love that time of year in Canada and the leaf colours make a stunning backdrop and even in the City, they add something.
These are a selection of my favourite Fall wedding images taken by some of our photography partners.

A styled wedding photo shoot

I've had these images for a while, really to see if the theme stood the test of time. It was called a "Burberry Wedding" and whilst the brand has by no means disappeared, I did wonder if they would look dated. On reflection, the colour theme is still good (obviously, or Burberry wouldn't still be using it) and the orange just 'pops' it.

I'm liking for Autumn or Winter - what do you think?
